Unifying Grundfos Digital
The world’s leading manufacturer of pumps, water platforms and products, Grundfos delivers into 56 territories with hundreds of distinct interface design languages spanning 1000s of legacy and next generation product lines.
Conjure faced the challenge of conceptualising and orchestrating a Digital Experience Framework for end-users. The primary objectives included unifying design to ensure a consistent and intuitive global experience across all platforms, establishing a core library and system to support existing interfaces, and facilitating the rapid deployment of new interfaces. Additionally, the focus was on enhancing collaboration by streamlining the handover process between design and development, with a particular emphasis on leveraging a shared component library.
"The fast-paced and flexible way that Conjure has worked with us to develop a design language has delivered real value in both time and cost savings."

Create, Deploy, Learn and Iterate
In partnership, we created from the ground up a design practice, core working principles, and the platforms to enable greater velocity, clarity and consistency across the business’ global design requirements.
Developed alongside live projects, we were able to create, deploy, learn and iterate with real users every detail of the new design language. Iterations and enhancements allowed us to test, learn and refine our global design system to constantly harmonise experience across physical HMIs and digital interfaces including mobile, tablet, desktop and web applications.
Introducing Platform Thinking
Core to embedding improved design practice we established a cross-platform approach anchored on a rigorously structured modular UI system using atomic principles. Robust governance, documentation and shared library access for remotely located product teams has enabled increased velocity against less time and cost spent in delivering design.
Helping digital progress to flow
Our design system played a pivotal role in empowering Grundfos' teams to shape and deliver the future of their digital products and services, yielding five key outcomes:
Firstly, there was a notable increase in velocity and a reduction in time to market overall, as the global design system became an integral part of daily operations.
Secondly, the adoption of rapid prototyping led to a significant improvement in the speed of iterating screen designs, facilitated by a user-friendly drag and drop library.
Thirdly, the onboarding process for customers experienced a reduction in friction and struggle, a result attributed to the consistent application of our design language, a fact consistently validated through user testing.
Fourthly, our shared design library facilitated greater collaboration and the ability for remote teams to sprint in parallel, thereby enhancing overall teamwork.
Lastly, the transformation of design methods had a profound impact on the business's capability to drive and deliver rapid product innovation, marking a substantial improvement in Grundfos' overall creative and developmental capacity.
